My Favorite Things

Nutrition/Hydration

Hammer Gel Comes in some pretty mild flavors, it’s not too thick, and a very cool feature – comes in multi serving bottles which enables you to put in a gel flask.

Luna Moons For something a little different, these are like gummy snacks with vitamins and minerals to give you a boost.  I liked the taste and they seemed pretty easily digestible.

Nuun Tablets to turn your water into a sport drink.  Virtually calorie free and also free of high fructose corn syrup!

Gear

Headsweats Hats These hats are great, they are mesh so they aren’t too hot and wick the moisture.  They are easy to wash and the cool 26.2 and 13.1 designs enable you to proudly tout your accomplishment.

Elastic Shoe Laces Don’t worry about untied laces ever again! Ditch the old school laces and go with elastic laces and you can get your shoes off and on quickly which is a big deal when you are running with a rock in your shoe!

Fuel Belt The athlete’s fanny pack!  Allows you to carry flasks of gel or hydration and a pocket to carry gel packs, key, or ipod.

Garmin GPS Track your mileage accurately with one of Garmin’s GPS devices.

Music

Podrunner has some great running mixes.  Set to specific BPM, most mixes are about an hour long and are a great motivator.

Clothing

Sugoi Subzero tights Amazing for cold weather, especially temps around 0-40.

The Frog Bra A great running bra that eliminates all bounce.

Injinji Socks Socks that separate your toes, great for those of us who are blister prone on our toes.

Head Sweats hats Lightweight mesh hats with cool marathon and Ironman logos.

Customized Running Shirts From Zazzle, big selection of technical shirts and even larger array of t-shirts.  Get one for your runner and the cheering squad!

Cool Running Tees and Necklaces Run Happy Tees has cool shirts for moms that say things like “Run Like a Mother” and necklaces that remind you to “run happy.”

Running Skirts You can tell these skirts are designed by runners. They have a wedgie free liner (cue the applause), are lightweight and wicking, and far more flattering than you would assume a piece of workout gear could be.

Sock Guy funky socks Who said you have to go with boring white socks for running? Advertise your love of pirates or hatred of cars with some cool socks.

Cheerleading

Cow bells More cow bell.  Enough said.

Bullhorns To complement your cow bell of course.

Friction

Body Glide Not as greasy as vaseline or aquafor and does a good job of preventing chafing.

Band Aid Blister Healing Cushions So much better than a plain band-aid, they provide a cushion for your blister and stay on really well, I’ve had them stay put through a whole marathon.

Rewards

Lift your sole stamped and engraved charms A great variety of charms to motivate and reward yourself. I have the 26.2 and 140.3 charms to do a little bragging.
